Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man and a Van Mayfair
Man and a Van Mayfair is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. We oppose all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, child labour, and any exploitation of vulnerable individuals. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery within our operations and our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all aspects of our activities, from the recruitment and treatment of our own workforce to the way in which we select, contract, and manage suppliers and other business partners.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act with integrity and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations relating to modern slavery. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in the termination of employment, contracts, or business relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man and a Van Mayfair provides transport and removal services. Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle and equipment providers, fuel suppliers, maintenance and repair services, facilities management, and various professional and support services. While the inherent risk of modern slavery in our sector may be lower than in some industries, we recognise that risks can exist at any level of the supply chain, including indirect suppliers.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold standards that are consistent with our own. As part of our supplier onboarding and management process, we seek to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery by:
Carrying out risk-based assessments of new and existing suppliers, taking into account sector, location, and the nature of goods or services supplied. Communicating our zero-tolerance stance and our expectations regarding ethical labour practices. Requesting information from suppliers on their own policies, procedures, and controls relating to modern slavery.
Where a supplier is considered to present a higher risk, we may require additional assurances or decline to proceed with or continue the business relationship if appropriate standards cannot be demonstrated or maintained.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We are committed to monitoring our supply chain to help ensure ongoing compliance with our standards. To support this, we employ a programme of proportionate and risk-based supplier audits and reviews. These may include:
Periodic checks of supplier documentation and policies. Verification of labour practices where appropriate. Requests for evidence of training, due diligence processes, and corrective actions.
If any concerns are identified during these audits or reviews, we will engage with the supplier to understand the issue, require remedial action within a defined timeframe, and, where necessary, suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Speak Up Channels
We encourage a culture where concerns about modern slavery, unethical conduct, or unsafe working conditions can be raised openly and without fear of retaliation. Employees, contractors, and other stakeholders are urged to report any suspicion or knowledge of modern slavery within our business or supply chain to management or through the established internal reporting channels.
Reports can be made confidentially, and all allegations will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. Anyone raising a concern in good faith will be supported and must not suffer any adverse treatment as a result of speaking up.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential for preventing modern slavery. We are committed to providing appropriate information and guidance to employees whose roles may expose them to potential risks, including those involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment.
Training focuses on recognising indicators of modern slavery, understanding our policies and expectations, and knowing how to respond and report concerns.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man and a Van Mayfair is dedicated to continually improving its approach to identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery risks. We review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, our operations, or our risk assessment.
The annual review considers the effectiveness of our current measures, feedback from audits and investigations, and any developments in best practice. Where necessary, we update our policies, procedures, and training to strengthen our controls and enhance protection for workers across our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement reflects the commitment of Man and a Van Mayfair to responsible business conduct and respect for human rights in all that we do.
